Human Resource Management Deployment Director

About the role

As our Sustainable Manufacturing & Sourcing (SMS) Human Resource Management (HRM) Deployment Director, you will be responsible for deploying the Nike’s HRM Labor strategy.   You will utilize a range of leadership approaches to influence and inspire Nike factory partners to take action in support of the strategy. 

You will need strong consulting, communication and influencing skills to support the deployment of the HRM strategies.  This role will work cross-functionally and leverage functional expertise to develop actionable implementation plans.  This requires the ability to collaborate with Nike’s SMS field teams as well as third party consultants to ensure consistency of HRM practice.  You will actively seek the field team and WHQ’s input when making improvements to existing tools/processes, solving problems and making decisions.

Additionally, you will track progress against HRM performance metrics and regularly report progress against milestones.  The position is in Singapore and reports to the Labor Director in Singapore. This role is a key link between WHQ strategy, field deployment, and execution at contract manufacturers.


  • Lead global deployment of Sustainable HRM strategies.  Support World Headquarters (WHQ) in creation of strategies and lead engagement to field execution work.   Create HRM deployment strategy by location.
  • Apply expert level professional HRM knowledge and skills; utilize this knowledge to build capabilities of Nike field consultants, and manufacturing suppliers’ teams.
  • Collaborate / partner with key Nike stakeholders and business units (Footwear, Apparel, Equipment) to align on HRM needs and objectives. 
  • Drive ownership of factory capability development and achievement of performance targets by engaging and influencing key leaders at a factory group (e.g. senior leadership) level.
  • Lead coordination of Nike Global Labor team to develop sharing of best practices, including playbooks and other materials; synchronize with factory groups.
  • Apply critical thinking to solve complex, multi-dimensional problems.
  • Understand Labor markets and trends and communicate the implications of risks on the supply chain.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field; MBA or Master’s degree in Human Resources preferred. 
  • Eight + years' progressively responsible experience in Human Resource Management. Previous people management experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of HRM Strategies, HR Information Systems (HRIS), Compensation and Benefits, and Worker Engagement technologies and approaches; recognized as expert in the HRM field.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing; Apparel and Footwear industries.
  • Proven ability to prioritize information, develop action plans and execute complex business strategies.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and sustain key relationships with broad and diverse teams.
  • A high tolerance to ambiguity; ability to work independently. 
  • Strong interpersonal / influencing skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).  
  • Ability to travel (15-20%) with occasional work on the manufacturing production floor.
