The Director for Asia-Pacific is a critical member of the Community Impact team, leading and guiding local teams in managing a portfolio of partnerships and engaging employees in the community in key cities in Japan, Korea, South East and South Asia, and Asia Pacific. This includes synthesizing local insights to understand the opportunities and barriers to getting kids active, developing community investment strategies and engaging partners with aligned goals to implement programs. The director will be responsible for all aspects of portfolio management in Nike’s system for approvals, contracting, reporting and budgeting. It is expected that this person will establish strong connections to a variety of Nike functions and external stakeholders - - identifying opportunities for integration and collaboration. This role will also be responsible, in partnership with local teams (including HR), for employee community engagement, connecting volunteers with local and accessible community programs in key cities. Finally, the director will help local teams plan for powerful storytelling, internally and externally.


This role will report to Global Community Impact's Senior Director for Asia Pacific & Latin America (APLA), and collaborate closely with local leadership and staff in Brand Marketing, Nike Direct, Government & Public Affairs, Human Resources, Sustainable Manufacturing & Sourcing and others.

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Social Impact/Corporate Responsibility/Non-profit Sector.
  • Undergraduate (preferably in Development or Social Sciences) and Graduate (preferably in Management) degrees.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work across multiple different projects at one time, supporting different initiative tracks.
  • Mastery of driving processes and project leadership to achieve team results.
  • Proven capabilities to lead cross-functional initiatives by networking, building relations, taking a collaborative approach and influencing others.
  • Structuring and managing multi-sector partnerships, including with government, NGOs, sporting associations and multi-lateral groups.
  • Planning and managing corporate volunteers.
  • Knowledge of the social impact, corporate responsibility and sports sectors, especially community- and school-based sports programming.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills with proven ability to structure and deliver content that inspires and engages others.
  • Fluency in writing and speaking English (minimum TOEIC 800+) in addition to advanced business level fluency in Japanese or Korean.
