As a Project Manager/Senior Innovation Engineer I for Air Manufacturing Innovation Vietnam, you will be responsible for Managing Innovation Programs while researching and developing new processes and methods for manufacturing footwear, equipment, and apparel components. You will work closely with the Air MI USA Innovation team as well as with our Asia manufacturing partners to develop new products and processes and to optimize existing processes.  You will partner with development and production facilities to create project timelines and drive the teams to ensure programs remain on schedule. You will work with multi-cultural and cross-functional teams. You will help lead the design and execution of experiments to understand key variables between material, process, tooling, and equipment. You will prototype and test ideas in an R&D setting while establishing specifications to facilitate the commercialization of product for a high volume manufacturing line. You will work with multiple factories, categories and processing platforms while interfacing with our Innovation team in the USA to help manage and drive commercialization of new products while utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods to minimize waste and maximize efficiencies.


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or other manufacturing related degree
  • 4 additional years' directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree
  • 5+ years' experience in Process Engineering within a high-volume manufacturing production environment
  • Experience working on multi-cultural and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with troubleshooting industrial machinery with strong knowledge in both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct formal presentations to staff members and management required
  • Experience in CAD / CAM / CNC and 3D tooling design
  • Experience with product / technology transfers, product development / commercialization and process development / improvement
  • Experience in Design of Experiments and strong statistical skills
  • Experience in LEAN Manufacturing or similar principles and practices
  • Possess a detailed and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work with associates of all levels including managers, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians
  • Proven project management skills
  • Strong MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Process knowledge of blow molding a plus
  • Process knowledge of injection molding a plus
  • Process knowledge of EVA foams and rubber a plus
  • Process knowledge to footwear manufacturing a plus
