The mission of the Marketplace Merchant is to create productive and aligned cross-category assortments for one of APLA’s most important accounts.


  • Scale cross-category assortments to store cluster
  • Leverage store cluster assortments to create channel/tier edited offers for the same country
  • Partner with the Geo Marketplace Merchants and other Strategic Account Merchants to ensure cross-channel assortments are harmonized at the country level
  • Determine account differentiation with potential product exclusives at the country level
  • Align assortment strategies with territory category sales and Integrated Account teams
  • Present assortment vision at KAPM, in partnership with category and account sales
  • Partner with retail planners to support account strategy, retail capacity, product flow
  • Provide account input into marketplace capacity, insights and local pricing, and recap account feedback to shape assortment opportunities.


  • University Degree
  • Relevant experience in assortment creation - good level understanding of retail metrics, Sales and wholesale metrics and the product creation process
  • Retail acumen
  • Proven expertise in product, assortment, consumer and marketplace
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and an ability to learn new systems
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of retailing and retail trends
