Logistics Director, South East Asia & India

As a member of the Nike SEA&I and APLA Logistics Operations team, the SEA&I Logistics Director delivers operational excellence in Logistics & Distribution management and drives Nike SEA&I inbound, warehousing & outbound delivery requirements to support targeted financial growth, Delivery Precision and Inventory turns as per the yearly Targets. He supports & drives the REFF Geo priorities as well as the 3 SEA&I Strategic priorities: developing key capabilities to bring product faster to market, drive operational excellence through collaborative & integrated teams & improve Service levels through continuous process elevation.
Core focuses: develops Supply Chain vision, delivers key Operations/ Logistics capabilities & efficiencies, manages 3PLs strategic relationship, drives process excellence according to priorities.
Strategic Thinking: He/ She defines the vision of Future SEA&I Supply Chain requirements and drives continuous improvements to enhance service, reduce costs and deliver optimal Inventory levels to support FY19-21 Strategic priorities.
Is accountable for the performance and consolidated results of the multiple Countries Operations/ export Distributors & 3PLs.
Applies business and management expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives within or across departments.
Develops departmental plans, including business &/or organizational plans & priorities. Manages resources to ensure the best allocation to meet financial and operational objectives, manages resource availability and functional objectives deliverables.
Continuously defines and develop new key capabilities required to expand Brand/ Operational presence within SEA&I to allow brand elevation and revenue expectations to be met.
Partners-up with Nike Geo/Global network to ensure direction adherence, approval and support.
Drives new capabilities programs (ie. Digital) to ensure optimal Supply Chain efficiencies through reduced lead-times & costs and enhanced service levels.
Leadership Management: provides leadership to Managers, team members, supervisors &/ or professional staff. Develops departmental plans to set up priorities for the function. Adjusts resources and decisions based on availability and functional objectives/needs. Takes active part in the IMP, S&OP & IBP forums. Integrates Brand plans and company vision into daily work and planning, leads and participates in key initiatives or programs with wide to moderate visibility.
Deliver Solutions: Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational and organizational problems.
Makes decisions guided by functional Business plans that impact the support and funding of projects, products, services or technologies.
Is responsible for actions and managing risks across the portfolio that have shared or moderate impact on own tracks of work and have limited short-term impact on company assets. Ensures the good knowledge and application of company’s policies & procedures.
Drives Process Excellence through Short-term opportunities or more structural x-functional initiatives.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning: Manages annual budget for 3PL’s and internal Nike SEA&I Logistics Costs. Supervises/ Audits the 3PLs performances, drives assessment on future capabilities needs and budgeting. Supervises and eventually challenges forecast to 3PL’s in coordination with the Country Ops teams. Supervises DCs capacity plans together with 3PL’s to ensure Nike’s annually targets are met
Supervises, maintains and communicates monthly and weekly tracking reports.
Ensures that 3PLs do comply with agreed upon processes and procedures as documented in the contract and SOP’s, updates SOP’s when necessary. Drives/ Coordinates internal & external audits.
Drives key performance indicators with 3PL’s, Nike SEA&I, APLA and Global Operations as well as corrective actions on non-conformances. Seek for improvement opportunities.
Conducts monthly/quarterly performance reviews with 3PL’s, reports on them internally and externally and takes appropriate actions. Is responsible for the partnership mindset and investment in the relationship.
Leads contract (re)negotiations, qualitative execution of Inventory Management processes to maintain accuracy and alignment.
·Creates the future of Nike SEA&I Logistics vision and develops the required Supply Chain capabilities.
·Demonstrates strong conceptual understanding of Nike’s Supply Chain; (from order management, warehousing, distribution, transportation & related systems).
·Demonstrate strong understanding of SEA&I specific regulations with respect to warehousing, transportation and customs related matters.
·Demonstrates working understanding of Nike’s Sales, Operations and Marketing objectives along with the ability to connect logistics strategies to their success and integrates x-functionally.
·Understands group dynamics and is able to facilitate discussions and build consensus in support of goals.
·Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage and negotiate with Partners or Accounts on a professional business level.
·Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial concepts; ability to analyze business processes and profitability models, creating solutions from the results.
·Strong Inventory Management skills and knowledge to lead alignment between Nike South East Asia & India and multiple 3PLs and deliver accuracy within contractual parameters.
·Strong project management skills and organization/time management skills; able to successfully lead (multi) projects across matrix organization.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills; effectively communicates with all levels of the organization capable of working within Matrix management system and within the sales team.
·Able to quickly analyze issues, determine root-causes and coordinate resolution
·Strong crisis management skills.
