About the role

As the Director of Tax and Labor Compliance Asia Pacific, you will activate a comprehensive and integrated compliance offense in service of Nike’s Total Rewards strategy across compensation, benefits, retirement and equity programs throughout the region. You will have direct accountability for all aspects of tax and labor compliance across the APAC region.  Together, the Total Rewards compliance team will create and maintain a proactive, sustainable model of operational risk management across the globe. As we build the team, be prepared to dive deep into the work for a comprehensive scope assessment, seamless delivery and flawless execution.
 
In this role, it will be essential to drive alignment and partnership across multiple strategic and functional HR teams.  You will need to think quickly, and act decisively.  Nike, Inc. is a fast-paced business with a focus on precision – including rapid and continuous response to regulatory changes.   

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and deliver an operating model for Total Rewards compliance in the APAC region
  • Lead APAC Total Rewards compliance practice to provide governance, guidelines and recommendations on complex compliance matters to a wide range of partners
  • Continuously monitor legislative developments to ensure internal processes remain current
  • Develop trusted relationships across the organization to effectively educate and influence on key risk and control issues
  • Utilize your specialized expertise to minimize compliance risks while decreasing administrative burdens
  • Ensure integration and alignment between different functions in HR Operational Services, the Total Rewards Center of Excellence, and key business partners on compliance matters
  • Anticipate potential roadblocks, identify opportunities for improvement and provide practical approaches to problem solving


Requirements of the position include:

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in operating regulatory frameworks for Total Rewards programs in multinational companies
  • ACA/CPA (or equivalent) or practicing lawyer preferred
  • Experience to include a minimum of 12+ years in tax or labor compliance
  • Preferred candidates will have a combination of experience across Big 4 public accounting, a national law firm and corporate in-house counsel
  • Ability to lead, coach, inspire a team of direct reports, indirect reports and vendors
  • Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
  • Ability to lead cross functional initiatives and project teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate objectives, strong information seeking skills and ability to make things happen
