Design Director - APAC Global Express Lane

Manages team and sets team and individual goals that align with department and function goals. Coaches staff, creates opportunities for staff development, makes hiring decisions, drives performance management, recognition and rewards. Develops team structure that facilitates and maximizes individual and team performance.

Graphic Design - Working in conjunction with Brand Design Directors, sets creative direction/vision, ideation, concept development, and branding for designative initiatives and/or projects. Uses expert design skills to create original graphic designs that appropriately reflect Nike's design ethos. Leads team projects and works independently to complete the most technically challenging individual projects. These projects include, but are not limited to, the development of print, packaging, 3-D retail displays, event signage, logo systems, imagery, video, and collateral materials. Effectively uses computerized systems in design process.

Project Management - Directs, manages, and evaluates all graphic design projects for designated initiatives and/or projects. Participates in the development of concept briefs in conjunction with client program managers. Briefs projects to internal design teams and outside agencies; provides art direction to ensure continuity of message. Responsible for on-time delivery of work against deadlines.

Design Leadership - Maintains in-depth knowledge of assigned business (es), product(s), or category(ies), establishing and maintaining relationships with business team, proactively sharing knowledge with Brand Design team, and consulting on projects. Shares technical design expertise with more junior designers.

Experience Minimum of 8 years progressively technically sophisticated experience in graphic design including at least 3 years of management experience. Proven exceptional ability to apply and perform graphic design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale, visual presentation development and layout. Demonstrated ability to apply these skills in innovative ways that elevate brand excellence. Knowledge of and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general, and the athletic industry specifically. Strong oral and written communications skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and ability to make persuasive presentations to senior management. Ability to effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, groups, and geographies.
