Demand Planner (Contract )

We at NIKE Canada are currently looking for an exceptionally talented Demand Planner (Contract) for our Downtown Head Office in Toronto, ON.

PLEASE NOTE: This contract will go until February 2019.

As our Demand Planner: 

 

·       You’ll be responsible for developing, monitoring and managing seasonal and long range product demand plans.

·       You'll collaborate with leaders throughout planning as well as in sales, operations, merchandising, finance and Category Leadership to grow revenue and profitability through improved line planning, forecast accuracy and reduced supply chain costs.

·       You'll work in concert with these to develop demand forecasts, which will be used by Costing, Sourcing and Supply Planning to drive critical downstream business processes.

·       Using these demand plans and forecasts, you'll develop, execute and report on an integrated purchase planning and inventory management process that effectively support all product engines, service level targets and profitability objectives.

·       You'll collaborate across supply chain teams to meet multi-season calendar timelines, ensure data integrity and continually improve demand and inventory accuracy.

·       You'll communicate line management requirements to Category and Geography teams to realize supply chain and competitive advantages.

·       This opportunity involves creating detailed plans that meet category demand targets while balancing customer coverage with seasonal constraints, inventory targets and performance metrics.

·       In addition, during the season you'll monitor style/color inventory levels and recommend actions to maximize inventory utilization or disposition.

 

Requirements for the position include:

 

·       Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field (2 additional years' experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree)

·       Minimum 5 years' work experience in an inventory management, production planning, demand forecasting/buying or financial planning position

·       Strong computer skills including ability to use complex query tools and create reports with database and/or spreadsheet programs

·       Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain systems

·       Strong problem solving skills and knowledge of cross-team collaboration

·       Proven ability to apply advanced planning analysis techniques with supporting assumptions

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentations

·       Ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience

·       Ability to elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner

·       Ability to develop strong working relationships with management

·       Strong knowledge of cross team collaboration

·       Experience in SAP/APO planning systems preferred, but not required
