We at NIKE Canada are currently looking for an exceptionally talented Logistics Manager for our Canadian Distribution Centre in Scarborough, ON.

As our Logistics Manager, you will have an exceptional opportunity to work closely with Nike Canada and NA Operations senior leadership, program leaders and functional leaders in DC (Distribution Centre) operations, planning, finance, customer service, transportation, and retail.

 Responsible for goal setting, action plans, and measurements for the Canada Operations team including monitoring performance on a regular basis. You will use communication and influencing skills to collaborate with extended x-functional teams on customer demand, order priority and timelines. Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to ensure delivery of premium consumer experience to Nike’s customers. Monitor progress to the established goals daily and make key decisions for improvement. Responsible for carrier negotiations and management, DC bypass process, customs clearances, freight payments and planning of goods. Work with DC operations management to ensure the most efficient plan is executed. Ensure steady flow moves throughout the facility that supports operational needs of each functional area. Drive KPI’s to ensure customer order delivery in full and on time. Develop high-impact presentations to communicate the strategic plan, roadmap and initiatives to the broader organization.

Core Accountabilities:

Business Expertise and Leadership

To build knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. To understand the key business drivers; using this knowledge in daily operational planning. Develop, document, and execute on logistics and distribution strategic plans by overseeing the planning of the movement of goods. Candidates will demonstrate a solid knowledge of national and international transportation policies and practices. Responsible for defining the service policy for Canada that leads to customer satisfaction. Responsible for the selection, motivation, development, and evaluation of the logistics team, including recruitment, employee developmental, performance reviews, salary administration, and professional/managerial training. Demonstrate the ability to create and maintain strong business partnerships. Build positive employee relationships and balance the work according to business needs; continually communicate, and achieve or exceed the goals and objectives of the organization. Must demonstrate working knowledge of supply chain logistics processes including, but not limited to: demand planning, distribution planning, inventory management, inventory planning, transportation and logistics planning, customer service and distribution operations.

Delivering Solutions

Problem solving and solution creation. Respond to requests from internal/external customers. Provide solutions to achieve targeted goals while aggressively pursuing customer service standards. Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within global guidelines. Develop implementation of logistics best practices such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control, demand planning, and SKU optimization. Plan and schedule tasks to ensure merchandise is delivered in full and on time. Prioritize various competing tasks and performs quickly, efficiently and accurately according to urgency. Allocates resources and anticipates obstacles to ensure deadlines are met


Ability to explain information and influence change. Make decisions within guidelines and polices that impact priorities and allocation of time to meet deadlines. Drive operational excellence and best practices across the network optimizing processes year after year by providing analytical information to enhance results.  


Requirements for this position include: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 or 6 years direct relevant work experience in DC Logistics/Supply Chain Operations

  • Strong project management, problem structuring, and strategic problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Experience managing complex cross-functional stakeholder engagements, including facilitating workshops, is preferred

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Proficiency in oral/written English. French is an asset but not mandatory

  • Proficiency in MS Excel & Access and experience in SAP

  • Proficiency in Manhattan WMS preferred

  • Knowledge in Supply Chain Analytics tools like Tableau, Llamasoft, VB, SQL preferred

  • Shift Flexibility will be required.
