Integrated Marketplace Development Manager

We are recruiting for the newly created position of Integrated Marketplace Development Manager; this is a full-time position, based in Melbourne, reporting to the Pacific Sales Director. The mission of the Integrated Marketplace Development Manager is to drive fewer, better physical retail Nike Consumer Experience (NCX) destinations though rigorous marketplace planning and management, and coordinate with cross-functional teams in territory to ensure execution of the plan.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Drive the Fewer/Better strategy through the lens of consumer and how we will serve them in the marketplace with purposeful retail NCX destinations
  • Define channel/banner consumer proposition in collaboration with Sales / Nike Direct leadership teams
  • Define NCX vision and finance guardrails for each banner supported by the strategy (F/B)
  • Create a consistent process to enable key city and trade zone marketplace mapping
  • Develop NCX execution strategy in collaboration with Geo and territory cross functional partners
  • Work with cross functional teams in RBP, Nike Direct, and Finance to execute investment guidance
  • Track progress against IMP investments to ensure that they are aligned to the strategy (Partner, banner, cities, trade zones. etc)

Preference will be given to applicants who have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Sales, Marketing or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in marketplace management, strategic planning and/or vendor sales for a multi-store retailer or wholesaler 
  • Experience in developing an understanding of consumers, competitors and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred
  • Strong and demonstrated ability to partner, influence and communicate effectively in a highly complex matrix environment with multiple business functions
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail math and gross margin profitability planning
  • Ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business
  • Advanced knowledge of MS office applications; proficiency in Excel including creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, etc
